Temporary tattoos from designer and illustrators

A great last minute present.

Tired of putting poorly designed temporary tattoos on her daughter’s arm, Tina Roth Eisenberg took matters into her own hands. After soliciting a dozen renowned artists and designers, hiring the first two team members, and learning what a temporary tattoo was actually made of, Tattly was born.

In July of 2011, Tattly launched online, featuring an all-star lineup of professional designers and illustrators. Starting with just a handful of designs, Tattly received thousands of orders from around the world.

At Tattly, we believe that great design and art can make people happy. We believe that quality products and great customer support are the only options. And we believe that, whether for a child or an adult, every Tattly should come with a smile.

Designed by professional artists who get a cut of every sale. Safe and non-toxic, printed with vegetable-based ink. Shipped with love out of Brooklyn, NY. FDA-compliant and fun for all ages.

Art, technology and design workshops run by a lovely Berlin community

Art, technology and design workshops run by a lovely Berlin community

School of Machines

The School of Machines, Making & Make Believe provides one-of-a-kind hands-on learning experiences in the areas of art, technology, design, and human connection. Our philosophy is centered around the idea that we are all lifelong learners. We would love for our students to leave our programs activated; not only equipped with technical and hands-on tools and skill sets, but also critically-minded, more deeply engaged with their surroundings and with themselves.

Artists, designers, technologists, makers, researchers and the like come to us to explore new topics, develop and expand their practice, and wrestle out the courage to begin something new. We support them in these endeavors while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and the enthusiasm to say something with their work.

Our instructors are distinguished artists and technologists working directly with the tools they teach and our programs provide an opportunity for our students to work with them to expand their fields of knowledge and build towards a more interdisciplinary practice. Program sizes are small and students actively engage their new-found skills and collaborators each step of the way, creating individual and group work towards a public exhibition at programs end.

We encourage people without previous experience to apply, as we believe the formative qualities that make each of us distinctive humans-- our beliefs, attitudes and unique experiences-- can guide us towards the creation of something more magical than what technology alone can achieve. We must all start somewhere!

iPhone

I've used the 3G, 4, 6 and now the Xr. The Xr finally has a battery that lasts a whole day, great camera, loud speakers, Live Photos, fast and water resistant. The three things I dislike are its size, no Force Touch and no Touch ID.

Formcard

Backed this a few years ago on Indiegogo. Basically like Sugru but reusable. Has been useful a few times already.

Formcard is a handy, pocket sized card of strong, meltable bio-plastic that you can use to make, fix and modify the world around you. Just drop it in a cup of hot water and it's ready to use. Keep one in your wallet, toolbox or kitchen drawer so that it's always around when you need to use it.

Clear and entertaining analyses of art, film and communication

Clear and entertaining analyses of art, film and communication

Nerdwriter

My show covers a variety of subjects: film, politics, music, painting, poetry, culture, sociological concepts and more. I'd get bored sticking to one thing. I believe life is moral, psychological, artistic, scientific, and that what is worth knowing is worth entwining into a web, or a worldview. If I've made a video about something, it's because I wanted to learn more about it. An organizing philosophy of the show is that we learn by saying. I learn best by making videos.

All-things stationary and graphic design

All-things stationary and graphic design

Present & Correct

Keeps my Twitter feed fresh with new and timeless graphic design. From time to time they also share wonderful collections of things.

P&C opened its virtual doors in 2009. A place for our own designs, things we love by other designers from around the world & vintage items which we discover on trips and foraging expedition. It's a showcase for the things we have enjoyed since school. A long-term obsession with stationery has culminated in a constantly evolving store. Paper and office objects which are inspired by homework, the post office and school. We are both graphic designers and go on sourcing trips around four times a year with the hope of finding some vintage gems. The hunting is fun and currently we stock stationery from 18+ different countries. We want to spark a distant memory, make you smile or look at the most mundane in a new, and fonder, light.

Swiss bags+ made from truck tarps

Swiss bags+ made from truck tarps

Freitag

When I lost my wallet (also made from truck tarps) on my vacation in Madagascar, I was kind of excited to have an excuse to finally buy a product from Freitag. Read about the birth of Freitag.

In 1993, graphic designers Markus and Daniel Freitag were looking for a functional, water-repellent and robust bag to hold their creative work. Inspired by the multicolored heavy traffic that rumbled through the Zurich transit intersection in front of their flat, they developed a messenger bag from used truck tarpaulins, discarded bicycle inner tubes and car seat belts. This is how the first FREITAG bags took shape in the living room of their shared apartment – each one recycled, each one unique.

Circular neck pillow

Circular neck pillow

Ostrich Pillow

This is probably my favorite product. Always with me when traveling. People know me for being able to sleep anywhere and with the ostrich pillow it is even a bit more comfortable.

It all started with a dream, as so often happens with unexpected revolutions. Back in 2012, the world was suffering from a serious sleep deprivation. A clever device that would allow people to rest where they wanted, when they wanted to, needed to be invented.
