They also have a YouTube channel where they comment redesigns step by step.

Hi! I'm Adam Wathan, a full stack developer who used to suck at design.

I've been friends with Steve Schoger for years and we've worked on a bunch of side projects together — him handling the UI design and me taking care of development.

Like a lot of developers, I always wished I could make my ideas look awesome without relying on a designer, but any time I tried to design something myself I would always get frustrated and give up.

I always chalked it up to a left brain/right brain sort of thing — I'm logical and analytical so I'm good at programming, people like Steve are intuitive and creative so he's good at design.

But after working closely with Steve I started picking up little tricks. Tricks that didn't require any artistic talent, but made things look better instantly for reasons that made sense to me as a developer.

Videos of tiny houses and their creators

Videos of tiny houses and their creators

I’m a youtuber.

I like making videos. The other 10% of my time I like spending with my family or trying to learn about philosophy, neuroscience, physics and metaphysics (preferably where they all intersect).

I make videos about simple living, self-sufficiency, small (and tiny) homes, backyard gardens (and livestock), alternative transport, DIY, craftsmanship and philosophies of life.

I studied economics but I didn’t follow the most popular career path. Instead, I returned to San Francisco and became a TV journalist, then I worked for national TV in NYC for a decade.

I’ve spent the last years working on my YouTube channel and *faircompanies, holding a conversation that gets more interesting everyday.

Clear and entertaining analyses of art, film and communication

Clear and entertaining analyses of art, film and communication

My show covers a variety of subjects: film, politics, music, painting, poetry, culture, sociological concepts and more. I'd get bored sticking to one thing. I believe life is moral, psychological, artistic, scientific, and that what is worth knowing is worth entwining into a web, or a worldview. If I've made a video about something, it's because I wanted to learn more about it. An organizing philosophy of the show is that we learn by saying. I learn best by making videos.
